About me.
I’ve always been ‘sporty’ and had a passion for movement, but I began my Pilates journey after having my first child. I used it initially as a means of repairing and nurturing my body, after the craziness of childbirth and caring for a young baby. I soon realised that my body was not only rapidly repairing and responding to it, but that I was gaining strength, stamina and mobility.
I then continued to be amazed by the changes I saw in my body over the subsequent years and how the practice supported me through the pregnancy and birth of my second child.
I’ve always dabbled in different sports and activities, but have always had a couple of constants throughout my life, they are horse riding and running. Both of which have been enhanced through my Pilates practice.
Pre-children my life revolved around horses. I’ve worked with horses in a variety of capacities and I am passionate about promoting correct riding technique, with Dressage being my specialism. I am a British Horse Society Stage 4 Senior Coach and a British Dressage Listed judge.
My passion for Pilates continued and so I decided to study and qualified to teach Pilates with Body Control Pilates. Body Control Pilates is recognised as a world-leading education provider for Pilates teaching and there ethos revolves around correct technique and building strong foundations. It is because of these values, I am proud to be a member of their organisation.
